I loved hearing what Annie has to impart in this course. It was like getting an in depth private session with her that I could do on my own schedule. I liked that she doesn't try to push one way of training, but is all about positive reinforcement and not punishment. There's so much information here that the average new dog owner needs to know.

This course was clear and encouraging. Each lesson helped me understand some of the fundamental actions that were shaping the behavior of my dog. Now we understand each other better/ I’ve even got him coming when I call – that might sound small but it felt impossible before this course.

Often, courses about dog training focus on teaching behaviors like sit and down and stay, which are all very important. This course covers that stuff, but it really is more about understanding how your dog learns. Once you understand that, it helps you address unique situations that may arise. I just feel like I have a better tool set to address things now.

The training ethos, helpful, welcoming community, down-to-earth vibe, and sense of humor about it all are so much more than I'd hoped for when I first Googled ‘dog trainers.' Lord knows the East Village didn't need another restaurant or bar, it needed School For The Dogs. I wish every neighborhood had one.

Kate is a miracle worker. She is patient and able to make the humans good trainers which is just as important as training the dogs. She explains the exercises and works with you to make sure you are doing it right while keeping it fun!

School for the Dogs is a game changer! Our 4-month old Scottish Terrier attended puppy kindergarten, day school and at-home training. To say he is transformed from the experience is an understatement. He comes on command, sits and loves being in his crate.

In the past Jake would only know one reaction – to bark and scream and lunge at any dogs passing by and never take his eyes off the other dogs as they walked by. However, by positively rewarding Jake for disengaging after he is focused on another dog, we have broken his aggression cycle.

School For The Dogs was great in helping me understand and help my terrier who was very loud and aggressive towards other dogs on the street. Their trainers are amazing at getting to know ‘what makes your dog tick' and also at educating/training us humans to help our dogs enjoy life.

Not only have we seen tremendous results but our confidence as first time dog owners has increased.
