Grad School

Grad School is a 5-week advanced class that brings the skills learned in Prep into the real world.

• Both you and your dog will build on the foundation skills learned in Prep School
• Focus will be given to loose leash walking, recalls, and holding safety positions (sit, down)
• Dogs must be over 5 months to participate
• Proof of up-to-date Rabies, Bordetella, and DHPP/DA2PP vaccines are required to participate

If you and your dog are new to School For The Dogs, welcome! In order to enroll into Grad School, you’ll need to meet the following prerequisites:

+ Prep School and Trainer Approval

Additional Requirements

In order to take this advanced class, teams must be able to fulfill the requirements listed below prior to starting:

• Be able to offer mat relaxation for 20 – 30 seconds without a treat
• Be able to give eye contact on verbal cue
• Be able to offer touch from 6ft on cue
• Be able to sit for 5 seconds on cue
• Be able to down for 5 seconds on cue
• Be able to “leave it” at all levels with high value / low value on cue
• Be able to offer “polite behavior” at doorways
• Be able to execute loose leash walking with guardian for 10 paces and a u-turn
