Urban Leash Walking

Walking a dog on the streets of New York can sometimes feel like a competitive sport. This class is designed to give people and their dogs the tools they need to navigate the urban jungle with aplomb.

• Learn leash handling techniques and training tricks that will turn walks into pleasurable experiences
• Skills & concepts covered include: catching your dog “getting it right,” handling pulling and planting, using real world reinforcers, building eye contact/focus, attention heeling, nose targeting and teaching your dog how to respond to leash pressure
• Small group classes allow for individualized and personalized attention
• Appropriate for beginners as well as dogs who have had some leash training already
• For dogs 5-months and older
• For this class, dog should not have significant behavior issues around other dogs or people
• Proof of up-to-date Rabies, Bordetella, and DHPP/DA2PP vaccines are required to participate
